Today is the last day of diving. Since we completed all of our studies a day earlier than planned, we only still needed to take our annual underwater class picture, and then have a few fun dives.
Getting geared up are Maggie and Dana.
Kyler's eager to go.
Gabi... always smiling.
Carlie.
Hally.
Carley, Olivia, and Anna.
Jess going off the side of the boat.
Dana taking her "giant stride" into the drink.
They're all in the water, finning to the spot where they'll go down.
Lots of things to see again, although visibility was a little lower today, so I didn't take very many photos.
Large schools of snappers.
Here's an interesting video of a big jellyfish. Look carefully for the small, white symbiotic fish that live inside the jellyfish for protection.
Look closely for the pair of cryptically-colored cuttlefish in this photo. We watched them for several minutes while the female deposited eggs under the coral.
Everybody loves clownfish hiding in the anemones.
I took this shot as we were setting up for the official class photo, which was taken by Andrew. So I had to hurry and get into my position.
The dive groups were helped back on board by the boat boys. This was our last dive. Count the smiles in the next photos to determine whether or not the students enjoyed diving while studying reef conservation.
Jess.
Olivia.
Anna.
Hally.
Carlie.
Gabi.
Kyler.
Dana.
Jake.
Maggie.
Alysa.
Becca.
Sara... without an H because H's are ew.
Carley.
Ajarn Mark.
Reality hit when they walked off the dive boat for the final time. Sadness replaced the smiles.

Thank you so much for the photos. I'm feeling a little emotional too because the trip is winding down, and I know what an experience of a lifetime this has been. Carlie wants us to come there instead of her coming home!
ReplyDeleteHow fortunate and blessed that our little Tigers got to experience all of this. Thank you!
It appears everyone is feeling better, thank goodness. They all seem very comfortable with diving, it has to be hard for them to leave.
ReplyDeleteWow!! What a fantastic journey they have had and how fortunate they have been to experience it!! Get the most out of your last few days everyone!!! :)
ReplyDeleteWow I know this was a great memory they will never forget. Thank you for putting together such a great program with lots of fun, learning and a little work. My guess is they may have thought it was all fun and not any work at all from the look of what we saw in the pictures. Thanks for the update. Glad you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for keeping us up to date with activities as well as all the terrific photos. Safe travels back to the USA - I guess you will land before you left. (((HUGS))) to Alysa from Grams!
ReplyDeleteLooks like they all had fun. Great Pictures
